About Rincon Horse Rescue Mission
Richard J Oper loved horses for over 60 years. He didn’t understand people, politics, or the ways of the world, but he understood everything about a horse. He became the horse whisperer for Tucson. In his world there were no bad horses, just bad situations. There wasn’t a horse that didn’t love him or a horse he didn’t love. Everyone who knew Richard said he was part horse. So, when a horse became too broken to be around people, Richard took it. He started speaking to horses when he was 10. He spent 64 years loving and soothing their souls. Rincon Horse Rescue Mission was Richard’s dream. He wanted to create a safe place for abused and neglected horses. He wanted a place where the horses’ hearts could mend and they would feel love. Rincon Horse Rescue Mission is that place.
